Working Together for Protection

Humanitarians are just one of the groups responsible for helping people stay safe in an emergency. Understanding who is responsible for what when it comes to protecting people in a crisis situation is essential if humanitarian organisations are to play their part effectively. 

To provide clarity and aid dialogue between the respective roles and responsibilities of those concerned we designed a set of toolkits to communicate. Accessibility was at the heart of the design for the toolkit. It was essential that the pictorial representations had universal meaning across different linguistic and cultural contexts to ensure the symbolism could translate across a number of languages.

Combining emotive pictograms with compelling photography created a strong link back to the human element, reinforcing the importance of humanitarians and the various parts they play during a crisis.
